REPORT: Kawhi Leonard’s sister sentenced to life for murdering elderly woman

Kawhi Leonard's sister, Kimesha Monae Williams, has been sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for her role in a 2019 robbery that resulted in the death of an 84-year-old woman. Williams, 35, was one of two women accused of following Afaf Anis Assad into a casino bathroom, assaulting her and stealing her purse. Assad died as a result of the injuries she suffered in the attack.

Williams, who is the older sister of the LA Clippers star, pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree robbery back in March. During the sentencing on Thursday, the judge rejected a plea deal that would have allowed Williams to serve a sentence of 12 years in prison. The judge cited Williams' prior convictions, which included multiple felony counts of petty theft and identity theft.
