In Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals, Stephen Curry put on a show in a way that was unexpected, but not necessarily surprising. He didn’t resort to being a scoring machine because his shot wasn’t working; instead, he played the role of facilitator, dishing out 12 assists and controlling the game in a way that resembled great floor generals of the past.

Curry’s brilliance went beyond scoring; he played conductor as his Golden State Warriors tied the series with a resounding 127-100 win against the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center. It wasn’t a prototypical point guard performance, but it was effective, as he helped his team overcome an early barrage from LeBron James and bottle up Anthony Davis.

If the Warriors continue to move the ball effectively and take advantage of clean looks, they may be able to duplicate their success in Game 2.
