REPORT: LeBron's Manager Maverick Carter Admits to Illegal NBA Bets in Federal Investigation

Maverick Carter, LeBron James' business partner, spilled the beans to federal investigators, revealing that he placed bets on NBA games through an illegal bookie. The Washington Post dropped this bombshell on Thursday, stating that Carter, during an interview related to the investigation of bookie Wayne Nix, confessed to this underground gambling activity.

While Carter couldn't recall any wagers on the Lakers, the team LeBron has been with since 2018, the report detailed that he admitted to about 20 bets on football and basketball games over a year. Each bet ranged from $5,000 to $10,000, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the tale.

It's worth noting that Carter and James, the iconic NBA star, are not just business associates; they're friends hailing from Akron, Ohio, and co-owners of SpringHill Company, an entertainment and production powerhouse.

The Post emphasized that Carter's interview took place in 2021 and clarified, "Mr. Carter was not the target of the investigation, cooperated, was never charged, and never contacted again on the matter," as per a statement from Carter and James' spokesperson, Adam Mendelsohn.
